Amy Schur
Amy Schur is the Campaign Director of the Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment (ACCE). ACCE is a grassroots community organization in low and moderate income neighborhoods in eight counties across California. Before launching ACCE in 2010, Amy was the Head Organizer of California ACORN. Amy has worked as a community organizer on the South side of Chicago, in Detroit, and in cities across California. During her organizing career, Amy has worked with community leaders on a range of successful issue and civic engagement campaigns, including a statewide tenants rights effort that led to passage of strong slum housing protections, a housing campaign that passed anti-predatory lending laws in several cities and at the state level, and a powerful fight in LA County that stopped many of the abuses of the Workfare (type of welfare to work) program.
