Antonio Páez

Antonio Páez is 36 years old and has worked at Starbucks in Chile since 2010, where he immediately became active in the union. In 2011, he became a union delegate and helped organize the first Starbucks strike in Chile. He was fired in 2012, and rehired in 2013. Since then he has served as the Secretary of the union until he was elected President in 2019. Prior to his rank and file activism in the union, he was a student leader. He was also put forward as a candidate to the constitutional convention in 2020-21 from Valparaíso by the Revolutionary Workers Party, with whom he has been active since 2004.
