Cherraye Oats

Cherraye Oats is the founder of the Fannie Lou Hamer Center For Change (Eupora MS) and the niece of the late Fannie Lou Hamer, a veteran of the Civil Rights Movement. Cherraye has been the Executive Director since founding the organization; as of 2019, she passed the torch to her youngest daughter due to breast cancer. Cherraye is still a community organizer and parent advocate inside the organization. Cherraye is married to Robert Oats and is the mother of six children and 25 grandchildren.
