Fatima Iqbal-Zubair

Fatima Iqbal-Zubair was born in Dubai, and her family immigrated to Saskatchewan, Canada when the Gulf War broke out. Her family immigrated to New Jersey when she started highschool and she has lived in Southern California for the past 11 years. She currently lives in Carson with her husband and son, and worked as a public school teacher and community advocate in Watts. She is now running a people-powered campaign to represent Assembly District 64. If she wins, she would be the first Muslim to get elected to the State Legislature.
