Fred Pinguel

Fred Pinguel is the Executive Director of the Philadelphia Student Union. Fred’s organizing began in high-school as a youth member of Asian Americans United, fighting gentrification in Philadelphia’s Chinatown. He then became a member of the Philadelphia Student Union, joining other youth across Philadelphia to support public education reform. After college, he became a staff member of the Student Union, leading several chapters and focusing on leadership development and popular education. He became the Executive Director in August 2019.
