James Whelan
James Whelan is co-director of The Change Agency. His PhD developed strategies for activist education and training, which have been applied by hundreds of social and environmental justice groups in the Australia-Pacific region.
James has two decades activist experience with groups including the Queensland Conservation Council, the Wilderness Society, Amnesty International and Greenpeace, campaigning on air pollution and sustainable transport, toxic pollution, tropical rainforest conservation, human and civil rights, genetic engineering and wilderness conservation, and six years as a social movement researcher and lecturer with Griffith University. He has published widely in both academic and community sector literature.
