Jason Stahl
Jason Stahl is an independent writer living in Minneapolis, MN. He has a PhD in history from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities where he also held various teaching, research and administrative positions over the last two decades. His first book, Right Moves: The Conservative Think Tank in American Political Culture since 1945 (University of North Carolina Press, 2016) explores the political power of conservative think tanks in the 20th and 21st centuries. He is currently at work on a second book entitled Exploit U: The Secret Underworld of College Football and writes at his newsletter on topics related to the intersection of academia and college athletics. He also is a former labor organizer who worked to organize University of Minnesota graduate students in 2004-5 with the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America (UE). He also was an activist in the University of Minnesota faculty unionization effort in 2015-17 with SEIU.
