Saa’un Bell
Saa’un Bell (she/her/hers) is an organizer, strategist, creative, and writer. She is a Black Bisayan, Philippine-born, 1st generation Californian by way of the South - Greenville, Alabama. She has organized and developed Black and Brown youth to transform California’s education system at Californians for Justice (CFJ), a statewide Black & Brown powered organization fighting for racial justice in education for 11 years. Saa’un is currently a Senior Strategy Director who oversees CFJ’s regional organizing in Long Beach and Oakland and leads CFJ’s statewide narrative, civic engagement strategy, and campaigns. She is a founder of the Shared Story Table for Public Education and is a steering committee member for the National Partnership for the Future of Learning and Power California. Her organizing, strategy, and writing are deeply rooted in Eastside Long Beach, her Working Class, Black Southern, and rural Filipino Immigrant roots.
