Sharon Wright Jackson

Sharon Wright Jackson is a community education activist in Dallas, Texas. She is currently serving as a leader in the Texas Organizing Project and the Journey for Justice Alliance National Outreach Team, where she harnesses the power of Black education activists to work for equity in schools.  She also serves as an Adjunct Professor in Community Education, training special needs students in Texas workforce development.

She started her career at Johnson C. Smith University (HBCU-JCSU) in the Office of Admission and has previous experience as the Youth Education Program Manager with the Urban League of Central Carolina, the Resident Services Coordinator for the NHP Foundation, and a Housing Commissioner for the Arlington Texas Housing Authority.

Married with two young adult children, Mrs. Wright Jackson is a graduate of Johnson C. Smith University (where she was a first-generation four -year college student. She has an MBA and is currently working toward her Doctor of Education with a focus on cultural competency training outcomes. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Inc., the sorority of educators.
