Tamta Chkhaidze

Tamta Chkhaidze is a freelance journalist and communications specialist based in Tbilisi, Georgia. Her career bridges journalism and strategic communications, allowing her to connect with diverse audiences across platforms. For more than four years, Tamta has worked as a Communications Officer at Human Rights House Tbilisi, supporting human rights defenders and amplifying critical voices in the region. Alongside this role, she contributes as a freelance journalist to several Georgian media outlets.

She is currently doing a Ph.D. in Mass Communications at Tbilisi State University, where her research explores fake news and propaganda in the media landscapes of Georgia, Ukraine, and Estonia. Tamta also serves as an invited lecturer at the university.

With a background in Political Science (BA) and Mass Communications (MA), Tamta has reported on regional issues, supported advocacy initiatives, and used her photography skills to enhance storytelling. Her work is defined by insight, adaptability, and a strong commitment to telling stories that matter.
