Tory Russell

Tory Russell was a lead organizer in the #Ferguson Uprising. He is a former founding member of the Black Lives Matter Policy and Strategy Team and an organizer of Ferguson October, which called for thousands to come to Ferguson, MO for a weekend of direct actions to bring worldwide attention to the police brutality that Black people face. He has been a featured speaker at the AFL-CIO MLK Conference, the MLK Breakfast for the 50th Anniversary of Selma, the Castan Centre's Human Rights Law Conference in Australia, and Justice Or Else, and his writing has appeared in Ebony, Essence, and Black Agenda Report. He was named one of Ebony magazine's Power 100.
