Kelly Trautner

Kelly Trautner is the Director for Health Issues with the American Federation of Teachers, where she manages the union’s healthcare division and health and safety work. Kelly grew up in a holler in the hills of West Virginia and currently lives near a rural Appalachian town in southeast Ohio. Fueled by her own life experiences growing up poor in a rural area, Kelly’s rural organizing work and advocacy includes decades of union negotiations with rural healthcare employers, as well as environmental and healthcare campaigns in rural areas across the country.
