Dahlia Goldenberg

As the Founding Director of The Women’s Organizing Network, Dahlia Goldenberg merged a decade of experience with a global network of grassroots women’s organizations and her experience as a local community organizer. When she shifted into local community organizing, she discovered a lack of focus on women’s leadership or gender analysis, as well as sexism playing out toward women organizers. This realization led her to seek out others to jointly develop The Women’s Organizing Network.

Dahlia has over 20 years of experience in congregation-based community organizing, advocacy, leadership development, program development and general non-profit management. Her most recent organizing job was as Associate Director of Families for Safe Streets, organizing with families impacted by car crashes.
One of her foundational experiences was volunteering with and learning from leaders of grassroots women’s organizations, on a Fulbright Fellowship in Ecuador.  She holds an MA in Gender and Development from The Institute for Development Studies at the University of Sussex in the UK. She has published several articles on women and community organizing.
