Position Description: The Field Manager collaborates closely with the Field Director to implement sector-wide advocacy strategies and take on special field-based projects that complement existing work and/or further NCRP’s mission and goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement funder accountability advocacy tools and initiatives.
- Project manage the creation of field tools/content that operationalize accountabilityefforts that push funders to build, share and wield power in allyship with social justice movements.
- Play leadership roles and/or participate in coalitional campaigns with external partners aligned with these standards.
- Work across departments to integrate the building/sharing/wielding power framework into NCRP existing campaigns and narrative change efforts.
Strengthen NCRP’s strategic presence in and knowledge of the philanthropic sector, advancing NCRP values externally and supporting internal analysis.
- Serve as a key set of “eyes and ears,” gathering intel relevant to our theory of change and member issue areas by attending philanthropy conferences, serving as NCRP’s representative in select coalitions and cohorts.
- Coordinate closely with the External Affairs division to ensure information sharing and alignment on NCRP’s broader presence in the sector.
- Work closely with NCRP membership staff and non-profit members to provide technical assistance in the form of ongoing consultation, landscape analysis and strategic insights into sector trends and major players.
Vet and lead responsive funder accountability and rapid response opportunities.
- Field external calls with and give guidance to advocates pushing to move power and resources from philanthropy to the grassroots, exploring and vetting opportunities for potential partnership.
- Take the lead on crafting field strategy and project managing responsive opportunities, including ensuring close alignment between NCRP departments and divisions.
- Assist in other departmental efforts as needed.
- Back up the Field Director, senior leadership and other Field staff in rapid response and external partner relationships.
- Support NCRP events outreach, planning and documentation.
- Contribute to NCRP’s organizational success by keeping up with required administrative tasks such as timesheets, expense reports and database entry.
Qualifications
- A minimum of five years providing strategic leadership on issue advocacy or accountability campaigns.
- Experience working in and managing coalitions, including creating new short or long-term spaces to build consensus around and advance shared demands.
- A demonstrated commitment to NCRP’s values.
- Success at identifying and leveraging opportunities to advance organizational mission.
- Ability to juggle project management of multiple initiatives, prioritizing based on
- potential for impact, external context, and internal alignment and capacity.
- Experience with and understanding of the philanthropic sector a strong plus.
The position offers an annual base salary of $65,000 to $85,000 depending on experience. NCRP also offers an exceptionally generous benefits package including 100% employer-paid healthcare and a no match required employer retirement contribution.
