Join the team at the University of Rhode Island’s Metcalf Institute as an Inclusive Science Communication Program Specialist and help us center equity, inclusion, and intersectional perspectives in science communication. Thanks to the support of the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, Rita Allen Foundation (via the Civic Science Associate program), and Burroughs Wellcome Fund, you’ll lead our efforts to support and expand the global inclusive science communication community of practice through training, resources, and networking opportunities. You also will collaborate with the Metcalf team to develop, implement, and evaluate training programs and the biennial Inclusive SciComm Symposium. Plus, as a Civic Science Associate, you’ll gain personal professional development as part of a larger community of professionals committed to justice, equity, and accessibility in the field. Salary range for the role is $50,821 - $76,151 and is commensurate with lived and professional experience. This full-time position will be based at the University of Rhode Island’s Kingston campus, six miles from Narragansett Bay, 30 miles from Providence, the state capitol, and nestled on the coast between Boston and New York. URI offers a generous benefits program including health insurance, retirement, and leave. While this position requires a physical presence in Rhode Island, occasional remote work is possible.
