We provide a range of wrap-around services to help survivors rebuild their lives in the aftermath of abuse, and work to end gender violence through three key strategies: direct services, outreach and training, and systems-change advocacy. Our services are available in 11 locations throughout New York City.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Program Manager, Career Readiness Training Program (CRTP) directly supports the Economic Empowerment Programs (EEP) Senior Director in all aspects of management of the Career Readiness Training Program, including development and growth, as well as oversees clinical and administrative aspects of the Program. The Program Manager, Career Readiness Training Program supervises Economic Empowerment Specialists, MSW interns, volunteers, and other staff as assigned. This new position will be responsible for overseeing the Career Readiness Training Program, including digital literacy (Microsoft Office and Google Workspace) training services and professional development services for the Career Readiness Workshop (CRW), Office Operations Workshop (OOW), and Expert MOS certification participants. Oversee collaborative management of adult literacy component of in-house professional development training with the Manager of Literacy Initiative.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Overall support to the Senior Director of the Economic Empowerment Programs; develops, implements, and oversees in-house training programs and helps to inform training curriculum and procedures of the Career Readiness Training Program (CRTP)
- Responsible for ensuring the safety and security of Sanctuary's Career Services Training Center; maintains security of facility, equipment, and supplies
- Provides clinical supervision to program staff, MSW students, interns, and volunteers
- Ensures that FIA paperwork is issued and that proved to HRA time sheets are submitted in a timely manner; tracks client hours to ensure mandated hours are adhered to; works closely with HRA to ensure client stabilization with respect to public assistance benefits
- Determines and tracks work supports needs (stipend, laptops, food support, clothing allowance, etc.) in accordance with participant career plans; ensures accurate and timely disbursement of stipends and program materials
- Works closely with EEP Senior Director, department staff, and fund development to identify new sources of funding for program improvement and/or expansion
- Liaises directly with board and committee members regarding training-related projects, such as Interview Prep, and expanding client network of resources for job opportunities, internships, and mentorships.
- Supports EEP Senior Director in tracking intake data and assessing program fit for all new clients
- Monitors client progress within the CRTP and Expert Microsoft Office, makes recommendations, ensures clients are in compliance with service plans, and supports program staff in the screening, intake, and assessment of client needs; maintains close contact with case managers and employment-related staff, identifying work-ready participants; monitors and updates appropriate client service and career plans.
- Management and supervision for crisis intervention and safety planning for EEP clients with a focus on trauma and other related issues
- Collaborative management with the Senior Program Assistant, Employer Relations of corporate and program volunteers including coordination of special client events
- Participates in coalitions and task force as it relates to domestic violence and workforce development issues
- Creates strong relationships with city-wide agencies to build a network of referral sources for the CRTP
- Assists with fundraising and grant-writing initiatives
- Performs other duties as requested by supervisor
Organizational Relationships
- Reports to Senior Director of Economic Empowerment Programs
- Responsible for supervising Economic Empowerment Specialists, IT Specialist - EEP, and other program staff, as well as with MSW interns and volunteers.
- Works closely with staff members from other Sanctuary for Families departments, including shelter, non-residential programs, legal and development staff
- Masters Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling required
- Strong clinical/counseling skills required, including assessment, engagement, problem-solving theory, and crisis intervention
- 2-4 years in program management and development and experience supervising staff
- Experience working with clients participating in workforce development activities and programs
- Must have program management and program development experience in the area of workforce development, employment services, job training or adult education.
- Flexibility and capacity to prioritize and work on multiple projects and highly developed problem-solving skills
- Must have strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Google Workspace, etc.)
- Fluency in English and/or French/Spanish preferred
- Familiar with domestic violence dynamics, as well as issues of trauma, violence prevention, and victimization, and significant experience working in a culturally and racially diverse environment
- Must have the flexibility to work some evenings*
Budgeted Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 annually
Work position is currently Hybrid must be able to meet job location schedule obligations*
Vaccination Policy: Proof of vaccination or proof of first dose with scheduled 2nd dose within 30 days is required.
