Bill Vandenberg
Bill Vandenberg (he/him) is an award-winning activist and progressive philanthropic and political strategist. His long-time activist leadership in Colorado, including co-founding several racial and economic justice organizations, alliances, and campaigns, helped the state move from red to purple. Nationally, as a senior U.S. leader at the Open Society Foundations, Bill led work to analyze conservative infrastructure and invest in state-based power building within and across BIPOC and Millennial communities. He also led a multi-year, multi-disciplinary research exploration into the future of work. Bill now serves as executive director for a new, national startup to advance progressive change in conservative states. A Boston College graduate and former Rockwood Leadership Institute year-long fellow, Bill was born in Memphis, TN, raised in Midcoast Maine, and now lives in Jersey City, NJ.
